Hi. I am in the market for a Pyrography kit and wondered if anyone could advise me on a good brand and/or what to look for when buying in terms of styluses etc. I understand that the Peter Child kit is meant to be a good one? I look forward to getting some advice - thanks.

Hi,
AussieRob, I'm no expert but there are a couple of experts in the club. Let send a few emails and I'll see what I can come up with. Glad to see some one using the forum at last:). Get back to you later.

Hi,
Again. I've found out some info for you. This is from BeeMan.
John McConnell would be my first choice for advice. We have other pyromaniacs but John in my mind is the expert ( pyro'd stick in last competition) . He has an email address but relies on his wife to pass on info, so a phone call might be better; all numbers etc. on members only page.
Hope this helps. And if you could also vote on the poll and perhaps but a comment or two. Then perhaps we will get more like yourself on here and make it a really useful part of the club.

Thanks Izzy.
I will probably catch up with both you and John on Saturday.

Don't forget that our demonstrator at the October meeting is Paul Wilson a Pyrographer .

Having realised that I couldn't get to the club meeting tomorrow I bit the bullet.
I spoke with a pyrographer at the Chatsworth show last weekend and having also done some reading, I am now the proud owner of a Peter Child kit!

Result! Saw Bob Neill at Turners Retreat yesterday and got chatting with him as you do. He confirmed that the Peter Child pyro kit is the best buy around. Now, if only I can get as good as him ......

You'll be pleased to hear that Bob is also coming along to the October meeting and will be bringing about 16 pyro kits for members to "have a go" (does anyone remember who hosted the radio quiz show of that name in the 50's ?). You should have ample opportunity to pick his brains and get a few good tips.
